With much trepidation, we set out to find the Lazy Daze group in Quartzsite. The High Winds Warning didn't bother us. We're in a LAZY DAZE. But we'd never camped in the desert. We knew some of the group had arrived Saturday. We could even see Linda and John on Find My Friends but the iMaps directions to Linda ended up with "Park the car and walk". I wanted to email Roger and ask if anyone had ever needed to be towed out after getting stuck in the sand. In the end, we used the excellent directions Roger posted on the Quartzsite Yahoo Group and found the group at 'Roger's 1/2 Acre'. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a nice, level spot to park. We faced East so our awning would shade us all day on the South side.

For the non-RVing friends, Quartzsite is an Arizona city with a population of 3,500 and a median age of 66. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quartzsite,_Arizona
The population swells to 1.5 million in the Winter, many attracted by a huge RV Show and a Gem & Mineral Show. And many drawn to the miles and miles of free camping where it is sunny and warm.
We made the 40 minute trip to Parker for Wells Fargo Bank. Afterward, we headed to Safeway for groceries and a fake Starbucks. Seeing a Dollar General next door, we decided to go in in your honor - knowing you would if you were there. It was such fun. We loaded the basket up with candy, including old favorites like Mary Jane and Bit O'Honey. We found little things we needed or thought we did. And it was all less than $15.
Safeway wasn't nearly so pleasant. And their wifi didn't work.

Brilliantly, we Googled the library and headed there. Made us like Parker a whole lot better when they had a pleasant place to sit and fast wifi. The books were a plus!
We wanted to buy this mug for our librarian, Shannon, at the Rincon Branch but it wasn't for sale.
On the way through town.

Thanks for the preview photos of Q. I'll show them to Frank. Also enjoyed the kitty photos very much! Cindy
