CASA DE FRUTA - NELD OUTING, February 7th to 10th

Yes, we really do plan to finish the Alaska Blog.  But for now we are on the road again.

There's not much reason to go to Casa de Fruta other than for a group outing in a month in which rain is a possibility. The benefit is that it's paved.  This group outing was the Northern Exposure of Lazy Daze.  The fruit at the stand is beautifully displayed and over priced.  We did not partake.

We always enjoy the sight of many Lazy Daze in one spot. The uniformity is diminishing as more people order ones with the new, swoopy paint job.

We got to see some friends we have known for years and some new ones we just made.  Irene and Mary Sue hosted a lovely gathering with many opportunities to eat, drink and play games. Linda especially liked the breakfast potluck.

The food was overshadowed by the wine this trip! Nice problem to have.

This time, in addition to our usual Tech Talk, we had a session of sharing some of our favorite accessories. This one brought the house down!

HAPPY BOWL, toilet bowl liners.
Mary T. shared one that excited Linda - how to stop the smoke detector from reacting to her toast. She uses a small, plastic kitchen bowl-cover. Later, she even delivered one to us!

We have another reason to come here - its 40 minutes from Monterey! We have no problem driving over there for coffee and pastries in the morning. Parker Lusseau Patisserie has such good things to eat and is in a lovely, historic building. General Fremont used it as his headquarters 1846-1847.

Carole had a great hot chocolate with her pastry and Linda, of course, had coffee.

And just down the hill was Trader Joe's, so we stocked up on food for the next leg of our journey.

  2. I just KNEW if I checked back every few weeks you'd be back on board -- so I can now live vicariously *wherever* you are! Happy trails wherever you go.

    Hugs and smiles,
    Lorna
