PATRICK AFB, COCOA BEACH

You always ask for campsite photos so here you are. Patrick AFB is in Cocoa Beach, Florida right between the Atlantic Ocean and the Banana River. Like most Air Force FAMCAMPS it's first come, first served. We got a spot in Overflow with nothing but electric. No hardship.

Our campsite in Overflow. You can see the post for the next site on the left. Behind us is a pond.

Part of the Overflow area. Sites are close together but not uncomfortable.

Katie on Carole's bed. They love to sit on this spread Carole's mother had sixty years ago.

Dancer in the passenger seat. He jumps in that seat every time we stop on the road.

Linda thought it would be fun to stay at KARS, the Kennedy Athletic, Recreation & Social park run by NASA for employees. They allow military retirees to use the facilities. We drove up to the Space Canter to take a look but it wasn't any better than where we were.

We stopped at a fruit stand for grapefruit and juice. No idea what those fruits are on the trees.

Our plan to take the Kennedy Space Center tour died when we read that the lines are long and so are the waits. Much of it is done by bus. The deal breaker? They charge $10 to park, over and above the tour prices.

Linda drove to Melbourne one day hoping to find the Sauvignon Blanc Carole likes. We had found it at Total Wine in Tucson so thought they might carry it here. They didn't.

The Moscato selection at Total Wine in Melbourne. We've noticed how many more sweet wines are stocked in Florida.

A No-See-Um. Carole has been plagued by them. Unlike mosquitoes, No-See-Ums bite you and their saliva causes the itching.

We spent most of our time catching up on the blog and laundry. It was a good place to just relax in the sea breezes.
