DRUMHELLER - June 6th, 7th and 8th

We stayed at the Dinosaur RV Park in Drumheller, Alberta (The Dinosaur Capital of the World.) Do you think they overdo the dinosaur stuff?

We saw Randy on the patio in his 'coexist t-shirt' attempting to sign onto the internet.  Not sure what he is eating but we suspect it's the password code for the park internet.

The park offered a guided tour of Drumheller's must-see sights.  The bus was a little too cute but the tour was serious.

Our first stop was this Church which seats 10,000 people - 6 at a time.

Our next stop was Horse Thief Canyon.

Here we learned more about Canola. We had seen it in the Sacramento Valley before we left home and wondered what it was.

It's not yet in bloom here so here is a shot from Idaho where we also wondered what it was. Now we know!

The canyon.

The Richardson's Ground Squirrels were everywhere and seemed unafraid of people.

Our guide Fred, talking to Tony and Anna.

Al again.

The usual suspects.

The HooDoos. Notice the walkway on the left. Access was made easy, so we could roam around among them.

Single HooDoo.

Linda L at HooDoos.

Look Ma, no hands.

Zoe emailed this picture when she got home but it belongs here. I really like it. No way I was going over that thing - I don't like high places.

Bison, not buffalo. Our guide Fred was the one who feeds the herd. They are grown for meat.

Linda had seen a local acting school mentioned favorably. Rosebud Theatre Located in nearby Rosebud, they offered packages of lunch or dinner and a performance. The current play was Cotton Patch Gospel, a telling of the Book of Matthew set in modern-day Georgia. Two other couples also went and Tony and Michelle offered to drive so their puppy, Tulip, wouldn't be left alone so long. Grace was a student and our server at dinner. The food was pleasant enough and laid out buffet-style.

Rosebud Opera House was small and intimate. We enjoyed the play as much as any we've ever seen. It was a delightful performance and very professional.

Randy and Susanne also went with us. We all had a memorable evening.
